Lalaland
Definition
Lalaland is a collection of poems by Mistress Moriah that explores themes such as love, desire, BDSM, loss, surrender, identity, and human connection. The collection was published twelve years after her first BDSM poetry collection, *The Superlative of Love is BDSM*, and is a personal collection of poems about the desire to be completely oneself.

About Lalaland
In Lalaland, Mistress Moriah takes the reader on a journey through feelings and experiences that many people can relate to, both within and outside of BDSM. The poems explore desire, love, vulnerability, loneliness, hope, loss, connection, and the search for a place where every part of yourself is allowed to exist.
The collection was inspired in part by the many conversations, messages, and personal stories the author received over the years from people struggling with their desires, their identity, or the space to fully express themselves within their relationship or environment. Those experiences served as a major source of inspiration for the poems.
Seeing and Being Seen
Although BDSM is a recurring theme, Lalaland is not exclusively about BDSM. The collection touches on broader human themes such as the desire to be seen, seeking connection, receiving love, and the longing to be accepted for who you truly are.
The poems range from intimate and vulnerable to powerful and confrontational. Some texts describe the beauty of surrender and trust, while others reflect on sadness, loss, or the feeling of being stuck between desire and reality.
Through the combination of personal experiences, relatable emotions, and accompanying illustrations, Lalaland forms a collection in which many readers can recognize parts of their own story.
Historical context
Lalaland was published twelve years after the release of The Superlative of Love is BDSM. In the intervening years, Mistress Moriah has become a well-known author, BDSM educator, and workshop facilitator within the Dutch BDSM community. The collection reflects not only her personal development but also the many stories and experiences she has gathered over the years.
Safety & Considerations
Although Lalaland is a collection of poems, some texts may evoke strong emotions. Themes such as longing, rejection, loss, loneliness, and the feeling of not being able to fully be yourself recur frequently. Readers who have experienced similar situations may therefore feel deeply moved or recognized.
At the same time, for many people, the collection offers comfort, recognition, and the feeling that they are not alone. The poems invite reflection and show that desires, feelings, and vulnerability are part of being human.
