Pro Domme Society
Definition
The Pro Domme Society (PDS) is a Dutch professional network and knowledge platform for female Dominants, with a special focus on Pro Dommes and other women who are seriously and consciously engaged in dominance and BDSM. The Society focuses on connection, knowledge sharing, education, safety, ethics, and the further professionalization of the field and the BDSM community. The founder is Mistress Moriah.
About the Pro Domme Society
The Pro Domme Society was founded on the belief that female Dominants do not need to view one another primarily as competitors, but can instead empower one another by sharing knowledge, experience, and expertise. Within the commercial BDSM world, many Pro Dommes work largely independently. As a result, valuable practical knowledge is often accumulated individually and shared only to a limited extent. PDS aims to change this by creating a professional network centered on connection, development, and collaboration.
A key principle is that the work of a professional Dominant goes far beyond the execution of BDSM techniques. A good Pro Domme not only possesses practical skills but must also be able to handle, among other things, consent, boundaries, safety, hygiene, psychology, communication, emotions, and the responsibility that comes with power dynamics. Self-reflection and continuous development are also integral to professional practice.
That is why the Pro Domme Society combines a networking function with education. Members have access to a private learning environment featuring courses, background information, downloads, and other educational materials. In addition, the Society organizes workshops, masterclasses, training sessions, networking events, and small-scale private gatherings. These events may cover both technical BDSM knowledge and the psychological, ethical, and professional aspects of the profession.
Although the name Pro Domme Society explicitly refers to professional Dominants, a woman does not necessarily need to be commercially active to join the Society. Experienced or seriously interested female Dominants who wish to further their development and identify with the Society’s principles may also be eligible for membership. A public listing as a Pro Domme is not required.
In addition, the PDS has a category called Friends of the Pro Domme Society. This allows people who are not members themselves as female Dominants but who support the platform’s objectives and development to become involved with the Society. Depending on their membership status, they may be invited to select workshops, masterclasses, and private events.
Admission and Membership
Becoming a member of the Pro Domme Society is intentionally not automatic. An introductory meeting takes place beforehand to assess whether a person’s vision, attitude, and approach to BDSM align with the network’s values. In this way, PDS aims not only to build a membership base but, above all, to create a community centered on trust, professionalism, discretion, and mutual respect.
The Society offers various membership levels. Depending on the level chosen, these provide access to, among other things, the learning environment, meetings, workshops, masterclasses, private events, and a professional listing through the Society.
The Pro Domme Society focuses primarily on the Netherlands and Dutch-speaking Belgium, but has a clear ambition to facilitate connection and knowledge exchange across national borders as well.
Vision
Central to the Pro Domme Society is the principle that professional BDSM is a serious field in which craftsmanship, responsibility, safety, and continuous development should go hand in hand.
While competition is not denied—after all, professional Dominants each have their own practice, style, and target audience—collaboration need not be at odds with it. By sharing knowledge, inspiring one another, and providing space for different forms of female dominance, the professional standards of the entire sector can be strengthened.
The Society also aims to contribute to a more realistic image of the Pro Domme. Behind the stereotypical image of whips, leather, and high heels lies a profession in which understanding human nature, boundaries, communication, responsibility, and the ability to navigate complex power dynamics are at least as important as technical skills.
Safety & Points to Consider
Discretion, respect, and confidentiality are also important within the network itself. A professional community can only function when members can share experiences and ask questions without personal information being inadvertently disclosed outside the group.
