Zipper

Definition
A zipper is a BDSM technique in which multiple clothespins or clamps are connected to each other with a cord and then pulled off the sub’s body in one motion. It creates a short, intense pain stimulus that is often experienced as both painful and euphoric.

Explanation of zipper

The zipper is a popular form of pain play within BDSM because it is easy to perform, yet provides a powerful sensation. The clothespins or clamps are placed in a row on the skin – often on the chest, stomach, thighs, or arms. A cord or ribbon is attached to each clothespin, creating a continuous line.

When the Dominant pulls the cord, the clips snap off one by one. The submissive then feels a combination of pressure being released and a sharp, brief pain stimulus. The tension is mainly in the mental aspect: the moment before pulling, knowing it is coming, and the unpredictable order in which the clips release.

The zipper can vary from gentle and playful to intense and challenging, depending on the type of clips, the skin area, and the speed at which the cord is pulled.

Safety and points of attention

Although the zipper seems relatively accessible, there are still important points to consider:

Preferably use wooden or silicone clips, not metal ones with sharp edges.

Do not place clothespins on areas with fragile skin, scars, veins, or around the nipples without experience.

Pull the string in a smooth motion, not jerkily, to prevent tears in the skin.

Pay attention to the sensitivity of the skin: redness is normal, but purple-blue discoloration may indicate too much pressure.

The back, armpits, and inner thighs are sensitive areas; use extra caution there.

Do not leave clips on for too long: this can block blood flow and cause bruising. Maximum 15 minutes.
