Explanation of wrap bondage

Wrap bondage is known as a relatively accessible way to securely and evenly restrain a sub without rope or complicated techniques. Using cling film, industrial stretch film, or special bondage wrap, the body is wrapped layer by layer. The tension builds as the layers become tighter, restricting the sub’s movement.

This form of bondage gives many people a deep sense of surrender: the body is literally “wrapped up,” cut off from the outside world, and completely entrusted to the Dominant. Wrap bondage is often used as part of mummification, sensory deprivation, playtime on a bondage bench, or in combination with vibrators, cold or warm objects, and mental domination. Because wrap distributes pressure evenly and feels soft, it is an accessible alternative for people who are less comfortable with rope or with the pressure points that rope can sometimes cause.

Safety and points of attention

Despite its apparent simplicity, wrap bondage is a high-risk form of restraint when not performed carefully. The most important points of attention:

Breathing and the chest must never be restricted; no tight wraps over the ribs and/or chest.

Leave the mouth, nose, and preferably also the neck completely free. Covering these areas can cause life-threatening situations.

Check blood circulation regularly: hands and feet should not tingle, become cold, or discolor.

Always use safety scissors suitable for plastic wrap; regular tools are too dangerous.

Wrap can retain heat: be aware of overheating, especially during longer sessions or in warm play areas.

When the legs are completely wrapped, the sub must be able to lie down safely; standing or hanging positions are risky.

Always supervise. A wrapped sub should never be left alone.

Wrap bondage requires constant attention, calmness, and structure. The sub can quickly become disoriented by the pressure, heat, and immobility, so the Dominant must remain alert to physical and mental signals.
