Explanation of SSICK

SSICK was developed as an extension of the well-known SSC model. Whereas SSC focuses primarily on safety, common sense, and consent, SSICK adds two important elements: Informed and Kinky. The idea behind Informed is that participants not only consent, but also truly know what they are consenting to. This goes beyond simply saying “yes”; it refers to knowledge of risks, materials, emotions, and possible consequences.

Kinky recognizes that BDSM is more than a set of rules. It is a playful, creative, and sexually charged domain where fantasy, identity, and experience can flourish. By naming this, SSICK emphasizes that kink is not a deviation, but a conscious part of the experience.

More realistic

For many players, SSICK feels more realistic and complete than SSC. It is more in line with the modern BDSM community, where open communication, education, and sexual freedom are central. Where SSC is sometimes perceived as too black and white, SSICK offers room for nuance and personal interpretation. It encourages players to not only play safely and voluntarily, but also from a place of knowledge, self-reflection, and honest recognition of their kinky nature.

Safety & points of attention

The SSICK approach requires responsibility from both parties.

Safety remains the basis, but Informed means that you immerse yourself in techniques, anatomy, and psychological impact. Ignorant consent is not consent.

Sane remains essential: playing in emotional balance, without substances, and with an eye for realistic capacity.

Consensual refers to mutual, ongoing consent, including the freedom to stop or indicate when something becomes too much.

The element Kinky requires honesty: allow your desires to exist, but be aware of the ethics that go with them. Realize that fantasy is not a license; power requires care, empathy, and mature communication.
