Vacuum pump
Definition
A vacuum pump is a transparent cylinder with a pump system that uses negative pressure to draw blood to a specific part of the body. This increases sensitivity, swelling, and tension. Vacuum pumps are used in BDSM for stimulation, control, tease & denial, and medical fetish. Depending on the type, they are applied to the penis, testicles, nipples, or clitoris.

Explanation of vacuum pump
Vacuum pumps work by removing air from the cylinder, creating negative pressure. This pressure draws blood into the enclosed area, causing it to swell and become more sensitive. This can produce an intense, sometimes thrilling sensation that ranges from mildly erotic to quite painful, depending on the pump and the amount of pressure.
In BDSM, vacuum pumps are often used as part of tease & denial, edging, humiliation play, or as a visual fetish: many Dominants and subs find the swollen form exciting, confrontational, or stimulating. There are different types of vacuum pumps: for the penis and balls (usually with larger cylinders), for nipples (smaller cups that work individually), and for the clitoris or labia (often made of soft silicone material).
Some pumps are manual, others are electric or have pressure regulators for precise control. Vacuum pumps are used separately, but also as part of bondage or other forms of stimulation.
Safety and points to consider
Despite the simple principle, a vacuum pump can cause damage if used incorrectly. The most important rule is: always build up pressure slowly and never go beyond the point of “comfortable tension.”
Too much pressure can lead to bruising, damage to small blood vessels, temporary numbness, blisters, or severe swelling.
The cylinder must always fit snugly without pinching and must not be crooked.
Use sufficient lubricant on the rim to prevent vacuum leaks and distribute pressure evenly.
With genital pumps, extra caution should be exercised in people with erectile dysfunction, vascular problems, or sensitive skin.
Pumps for nipples or clitoris should never be left on for too long; prolonged vacuum suction can damage tissue.
Electric pumps should only be used when the Dominant can immediately interrupt the device in case of pain, discoloration, or pronounced swelling.
After use, the area may be warm, red, or slightly swollen; this is normal. Severe pain, blue discoloration, or persistent numbness are signs to stop and seek medical advice if necessary.
