Definition
Straight (abbreviation of heterosexual) refers to a sexual orientation in which a person feels emotionally, romantically, and/or sexually attracted to people of the opposite sex.
Explanation of heterosexual
Within the BDSM world, heterosexual usually refers to male-female relationships in which the dynamic between Dominant and sub also takes place within that gender framework. For example: a male sub opposite a female Mistress, or a female sub opposite a male Dominant. However, heterosexuality can be expressed in countless ways within BDSM, depending on the preferences, fantasies, and boundaries of those involved.
Contrary to what is sometimes thought, ‘straight’ does not automatically mean that someone is only open to traditional sexual acts. Many heterosexual people also enjoy forms of play that are not directly sexual, but revolve around power, surrender, pain, or psychological tension. In some Femdom relationships, for example, a man may call himself straight, even though during a session he may perform submissive acts towards his Mistress that fall outside the classic heterosexual framework. In this case, it is not about sexual orientation, but about experience, surrender, and energy exchange.
