The position can vary:
Standing: wrists above the head on the bar, ankles at the bottom, making the body elongated and vulnerable. But it can also be fastened horizontally between the ankles, which makes walking difficult.
Sitting: the bar is behind the back or in front of the chest, with wrists and ankles tied to it.
Lying down: the bar above or next to the body, causing the sub to lie tightly in line.
What makes this form special is that it resembles a cage made of a single bar: the sub experiences it as being locked up, while visually there is hardly anything present. This reinforces the psychological effect of power, restriction, and surrender.
