Explanation lubricant

Lubricant is an indispensable aid in many BDSM and fetish experiences. It facilitates penetration, prevents injuries, and makes movements smoother and more enjoyable. Contrary to popular belief, lubricant is not only used for vaginal or anal sex, but also when using dilators, butt plugs, electrodes, catheters, or medical play. Even with bondage, a small amount of lubricant can help protect the skin from friction or chafing from rope or leather.

There are different types of lubricant, each with its own properties and areas of application:

Water-based: the most universal, safe to use with latex and silicone toys, easy to wash off. The disadvantage is that it dries out more quickly.

Silicone-based: long-lasting smoothness, ideal for anal play or long sessions. Do not use with silicone toys, as it can damage the surface.

Oil-based: very slippery, but difficult to wash off and not suitable for use with condoms (damages latex). Sometimes used for massage or slippery massage play.

Hybrid lubricants: a combination of water and silicone, designed to offer the best of both worlds.

Safety & points to consider

Always choose a lubricant that suits the type of play: water-based for condoms and toys, silicone-based for prolonged or anal play.

Never use household oils (such as coconut oil, baby oil, or petroleum jelly) with condoms or latex or silicone toys.

When trying new products, test them on a small area of skin first to avoid allergic reactions.

Apply a sufficient amount for anal use – the anus does not produce its own lubrication.

Add extra lubricant regularly during long sessions; drying out can lead to irritation.

Clean skin and toys thoroughly afterwards to prevent bacterial growth.

Store lubricant in a cool, dark place and check the expiration date.

The right lubricant makes a world of difference: it promotes relaxation, increases comfort, and prevents injury.
