Explanation of jojoba oil

Jojoba oil is unique because it is not a true oil, but a liquid wax that closely resembles the natural sebum found in human skin. This makes it easily absorbed and leaves no greasy residue. In BDSM, jojoba oil is often used in massages, sensual experiences, or as an aftercare treatment following play sessions that put strain on the skin, such as spanking, bondage, or wax play. The oil helps to soften, repair, and keep the skin supple.

Jojoba oil is also valued because it is odorless, hypoallergenic, and has a long shelf life. Some Mistresses also use it as a base oil to which essential oils can be added, for example in aromatherapy sessions or tantric elements within BDSM. The oil can be used both heated and cold and is suitable for almost every skin type.

Safety & points of attention

Although jojoba oil is generally very safe, you should always check for any allergic reactions. If in doubt, first apply a small amount to the inside of your arm and wait a few hours. Never use the oil in combination with latex toys or condoms, as oil affects the structure of latex and can cause it to tear. Also avoid contact with mucous membranes when using as a massage oil, unless the oil has been specifically tested for intimate use.

Store jojoba oil in a cool, dark place to prevent oxidation. Be careful not to use mixtures with synthetic additives, as these can cause skin irritation.
