Stocks
Definition
A stocks is a wooden or metal structure in which the head and hands (or sometimes other limbs) are secured, intended for immobilization, humiliation, and controlled BDSM experience.

Explanation of the stocks
The stocks – also known as stocks or pillory – originated in the Middle Ages, where it was used as a means of punishment and public humiliation. In the modern BDSM world, it has taken on a completely different function. It is not a means of punishing ‘crimes’, but a powerful form of immobilization that can bring a sub deeply into submission.
A stocks consists of two horizontal panels with cutouts for the head and hands. When the upper panel is closed, the sub is fixed in a bent position. This makes the body accessible for touching, pain play, teasing, erotic humiliation, or soothing rituals. The physical fixation not only affects the body, but also the psyche: many subs experience an intense feeling of surrender because they no longer have control over their posture or movements.
Theatrical atmosphere
Dominants often appreciate the stocks because of its combination of aesthetics, immobility, and theatrical atmosphere. It evokes both classic power fantasies and playful role-playing, ranging from medieval to modern interior kinky.
Stocks come in different varieties: fixed pieces of furniture, portable models, metal versions, or luxury BDSM furniture with upholstery and adjustable openings. They are sometimes combined with spanking, wax play, mindfuck, sensory play, or clothing fetish. In professional studios, the stocks are a popular instrument because it keeps the body in a stable position for a long time without the Dominant having to continuously correct it.
Safety & points of attention
Although stocks looks stable and robust, its use always requires caution. The position can be stressful for the neck, shoulders, and lower back. Check that the sub can breathe comfortably and that the neck opening is not too tight.
The wrists should not be pinched and the weight of the upper body should not rest entirely on the openings.
Ensure that the sub always has minimal freedom of movement to relieve pressure on their joints.
Watch for signs such as tingling, numbness, neck pain, dizziness, or panic.
The bent posture can cause blood to flow to the head more quickly, which can cause a feeling of pressure.
Therefore, do not hold sessions in the stocks for too long at a time and take breaks if necessary.
In the case of bondage, blindfolds, or sensory play, the Dominant must remain extra alert. After all, the sub cannot free themselves, so the responsibility lies entirely with the Dominant.
Preferably use stocks indoors and always on a stable surface. Avoid prolonged strain on the knees when the sub is in a kneeling position. And as with all restraints: the key, locking pin, or mechanism must always be immediately accessible for quick release.
