Corset
Definition
A corset is a tight-fitting garment that encases the upper body and cinches the waist, giving the body a streamlined, dominant or sensual shape. In BDSM, the corset is often used as a fetish object, a tool for posture correction, or a symbol of power, elegance, and control.

Explanation of the corset
The corset has a long history in which beauty, control, and sensuality intersect. Originally designed in the 16th century to shape the female body according to the beauty ideals of the time, it later became a fashion statement of power and status. Within BDSM culture, the corset took on a new meaning: no longer just an aesthetic garment, but an expression of identity and dynamism.
For many Dominants, especially within the Femdom scene, the corset is a form of armor or elegance – a second skin that enhances posture, appearance, and inner strength. The tight enclosure affects breathing and posture, causing the wearer to automatically move more upright, consciously, and in a more controlled manner. This physical restriction can also have a mental effect: the wearer feels both trapped and elevated, depending on the context.
Subs also sometimes wear a corset as part of their outfit or training. For them, it can be a symbol of devotion, seduction, or objectification. The lacing – the slow tightening of the laces at the back – is seen in many BDSM experiences as an erotic ritual in itself. The moment when the Dominant laces up the corset symbolizes surrender, power, and the connection between body and mind.
Safety & points of attention
Although corsets are seductive, safety is important. Tightening them too much can lead to breathing problems, fainting, or organ compression. A good corset molds to the body and distributes pressure evenly. Allow the body to slowly get used to prolonged wear and avoid abrupt, deep tightening.
A corset should never cause pain or restrict breathing. During play where the sub remains in a corset for a long time, it is wise to take regular breaks. Also watch out for skin irritation or bruising if the wrong material is used.
After wearing, loosening the corset can be an almost meditative experience: the body relaxes, breathing deepens, and a feeling of liberation can arise. That moment is just as much a part of the experience as putting it on.
