Explanation of weights

The use of weights in BDSM is a refined form of pain and pressure play, which revolves around balance, precision, and control. By gradually adding weight, the body is challenged to endure the stimulus, creating a mixture of pain, tension, and excitement. Many Dominants use weights as an extension of clamps. Once the clamp is securely fastened, small weights are attached to it, pulling on the skin or tissue. The effect is intense but also controllable, as the weight can be built up gradually.

Weights can be used in all kinds of ways:

Nipple weights: stimulate nerve endings and can feel both sensual and painful.

Labia weights: lengthen and weigh down the skin, creating a feeling of tension and surrender.

Ball weights or scrotum stretchers: rings or tubes placed around the scrotum to weigh down or stretch the skin.

Penis weights: less common, but sometimes used in erection training or humiliation play.

In addition to the physical sensation, the mental experience also plays a role. The sight and sound of dangling weights enhance the experience of submission and control. Some subs experience it as a form of meditative focus: consciously feeling the weight, enduring the stimulus, letting go of resistance.

Safety & points of attention

Always start with light weights and build up slowly; the skin and tissues need to get used to the pulling force.

Only use smooth, clean materials to prevent infection or wounding.

Check regularly for discoloration or numbness; this may indicate pinching or excessive pressure.

Never leave weights hanging for too long; blood flow may be impeded.

Clean the skin and equipment thoroughly afterwards.

Working with weights requires the Dominant to have a keen sense of proportion and observation. The art lies in playing with tension – literally and figuratively – without causing harm, so that the experience remains intense but safe.
