Explanation of cutting

Cutting is one of the most extreme forms of BDSM and falls under blood play and scarification. The Dominant deliberately makes superficial cuts in the skin of the submissive. This can vary from a few short scratches to extensive patterns or rituals in which the skin is used as a kind of canvas.

The appeal of cutting can have multiple layers:

Physical: the sharp, burning pain sensation associated with cutting.

Psychological: the experience of surrender, powerlessness, and letting go of control.

Symbolic: the incisions can function as a form of marking, ritual, or sign of ownership.

Aesthetic: some people experience the sight of blood and the resulting scars as erotic or artistic.

Cutting is always a very conscious choice. For some, it is about the intense pain experience; for others, it is about the lasting marks it leaves behind. The sub carries a visible sign of the session or relationship, as it were.

Safety & points of attention

Always use sterile scalpels or knives and wear gloves. Disinfect the skin before and after.

Keep the incisions superficial. Cutting too deeply can damage nerves, blood vessels, or muscles.

Infections, scarring, and permanent damage are real risks. Cutting is never without consequences.

Treat the wounds with antiseptic and bandages if necessary. Keep a close eye on the healing process.
