Chastity belt
Definition
A chastity belt (abbreviated CB) is a device that completely encloses the genitals to prevent sexual activity or masturbation. It is used to enforce chastity and place control over sexuality in the hands of the Dominant.
Explanation of the chastity belt
The chastity belt has both historical origins and modern applications. In the Middle Ages, the idea of the chastity belt was associated with women who were supposedly locked up by their husbands to prevent adultery during their absence. Although historians largely dismiss this as a myth, the image lives on strongly in culture.
Within the modern BDSM scene, the chastity belt has been reintroduced, this time as a fetish object and a means of power. These are specially designed “cages” made of metal or plastic that completely cover or enclose the genitals. For men, there are variants that enclose the penis and sometimes also the scrotum, while for women, a metal plate is attached over the vagina and anus. The aim is to make any sexual stimulation, masturbation, or penetration impossible.
Physically intrusive
Wearing a chastity belt can be physically intrusive. The device is relatively heavy, restrictive, and visible, constantly reminding the submissive of his or her submission. At the same time, it has a strong psychological impact: it symbolizes total control and devotion to the key holder (the Dominant). Some submissives wear the belt for a short time during a session, others for days or weeks at a time. In extreme lifestyle relationships, it is even used permanently, with the Dominant determining if and when the belt may be removed.
Safety & points of attention
A chastity device must fit properly and be cleaned regularly to prevent skin irritation, fungus, or infections.
Make sure the device is not too tight; prolonged constriction can be dangerous.
Not everyone can handle prolonged denial. Discuss boundaries and be alert to frustration or psychological pressure.
Agree on how the device can be quickly removed in an emergency (e.g., using a spare key or a safety lock).
