Biting

Definition
Biting is a form of physical stimulation in which teeth are deliberately used on the skin or flesh, usually as an expression of lust, possession, pain stimulation, or dominance. Within BDSM, biting is used as a form of play in itself, as part of primal play, a sadistic game, or as a means of intimate expression within a D/s dynamic.

Explanation of biting

Biting is raw, instinctive, and primal. It touches something animalistic in us: grabbing, securing, claiming. Within BDSM, biting is used in different ways—sometimes gently and playfully, as a way to build tension, sometimes firmly and intensely, as a form of sadistic pleasure or punishment.

The sub is literally marked, restrained, or silenced with teeth in the skin. For many people, biting is one of the most intimate forms of contact. It is not just pain: it is feeling, smelling, tasting, grabbing, and holding.

Mix of lust, pain, and tears

Biting can be part of a longer session, for example during spanking, bondage, or sexual play. But it can also stand alone, as a powerful physical statement: “You are mine.” Biting can lead to lust, pain, tears, or a mix of these – depending on the location, force, and tone of the play.

Biting plays a very unique role in primal play. It is not a technique, but an instinctive expression of hunting, prey, desire, and physical dominance. The bite is not a carefully measured stimulus, but a primal reaction – raw, animalistic, and charged with emotion. Dominants use their teeth to literally grab and mark their prey, while the sub often surrenders to the feeling of being caught – sometimes screaming, struggling, or trembling with excitement. In this context, biting comes directly from the body, without direction from the head, which is precisely what makes primal play so intense.

Safety & points of attention

Avoid the throat, face, bones, nipples, or genitals when biting hard – these areas have vulnerable nerves and blood vessels close to the skin.

The mouth contains many bacteria. If the skin breaks or bleeds, there is a risk of infection. If there are wounds, disinfect and care for them properly.
