Explanation of Ben Wa balls

Ben Wa balls are centuries old – originally from Asia – and were used there for both spiritual and physical purposes. The balls are inserted vaginally and move with every step, movement, or contraction, providing subtle, constant stimulation.

Some models contain a loose inner ball that vibrates against the wall of the vagina when moved. This provides internal stimulation, even without touch. Within BDSM, Ben Wa balls can be used in various ways. They are often used as a toy in tease & denial dynamics, where the sub is required to hold them in without climaxing. Or as a discreet toy in public, with or without a remote control, as a way to combine control, tension, and humiliation. The idea of wearing a toy under someone’s command, without anyone seeing it, is extremely exciting for many subs.

Training games

They are also used in pelvic control or training games: for example, the sub must squeeze on command, perform exercises, or do mandatory household chores with the balls in. In combination with a short skirt, leg clamp, or other restriction, the game becomes even more intense. The psychological charge – carrying something hidden, thinking about her, being her property – plays a major role here.

Physically, Ben Wa balls can contribute to training the pelvic floor muscles, which is both sexually and medically beneficial. Regular use can improve muscle control, resulting in stronger orgasms and greater body awareness. Nevertheless, in the BDSM context, it remains primarily a toy that revolves around lust, surrender, control, and the subtle interplay between the inner and outer worlds.

Safety & points to consider

Choose the right size and weight

Beginners are better off starting with slightly larger, lighter balls. Advanced users can use smaller or heavier models for more of a challenge.

Only use body-friendly materials

Choose medical-grade silicone, glass, stainless steel, or coated metal. Avoid cheap plastics or materials that cannot be cleaned properly.

Pay attention to hygiene

Clean the balls thoroughly before and after each use. If necessary, use lubricant when inserting (water-based for silicone).

Build up usage

Do not wear them for longer than 15-20 minutes at the beginning. Observe how the body reacts. For prolonged wear: take regular breaks.

Do not use Ben Wa balls if you have an infection or are pregnant

Use is not recommended if you have vaginal complaints, are pregnant, or have pelvic instability. If in doubt, consult a doctor.
